Officicina 82, St.Teresa di Gallura

It's a sunny Sunday lunchtime in the very north of Sardinia. Following yesterday's torrential and persistent rain, this is a real treat. Sitting in the Porto Turistico of Santa Teresa di Gallura and enjoying the sun, we feel very fortunate to have found this small harbourside restaurant. There are no menus to be studied and so we both opted for spaghetti carbonara. It was a simple dish, as it should be, made with al dente pasta, a few pieces of cooked ham, a sprinkle of black pepper and with egg yolk mixed in at the last minute to give a richness. Molto bene, as they say around here.

Coco Loco, Cannigione, Sardinia

We had arrived in Sardinia late on the previous evening, collected the hire car, found the first night stopover accommodation and hit the hay. Then, on waking, we had a breakfast of half a leftover cheese and ham ciabatta and set off to discover whatever the north of Sardinia had to offer. What we found was lovely, picturesque and peaceful. However, by 6pm we were ready to eat but the local restaurants were not ready to serve until at least 7pm. Having had a preprandial libation earlier we fell pray to the only available option. No. This was the wrong decision. Lesson learned.
